Cinnamon Roll French Toast Bites (Easy, Gooey Breakfast Treat)

Ingredients

2 cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls (icing reserved)

3 large eggs

¾ cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

2 tablespoons butter, for cooking

Optional Toppings

Powdered sugar

Maple syrup

Fresh berries

Preparation

Preparation

Step 1: Prepare the Cinnamon Rolls

Open the cans of cinnamon rolls and set the icing aside. Cut each cinnamon roll into 4–6 bite-sized pieces and place them in a large bowl.

Step 2: Make the French Toast Mixture

In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and granulated sugar until well combined.

Step 3: Coat the Bites

Pour the egg mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces. Gently toss until all pieces are evenly coated. Let sit for 5 minutes so the rolls absorb the custard.

Step 4: Cook the Bites

Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the soaked cinnamon roll pieces in a single layer. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, turning gently, until golden brown and cooked through.

Step 5: Finish and Serve

Remove from heat and drizzle with reserved icing (warmed slightly if needed). Serve immediately with maple syrup or powdered sugar if desired.

Variations

Baked Version: Bake bites at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes, flipping halfway.

Cream Cheese Glaze: Mix icing with cream cheese for a richer topping.

Apple Cinnamon Bites: Toss in small apple chunks before cooking.

Pumpkin Spice Version: Add pumpkin spice seasoning to the custard.

Chocolate Chip Bites: Sprinkle mini chocolate chips over cooked bites.
